Peridot gemstone is available in different shades of green, from perfect olive green to green with a tinge of yellow. It is one of few semiprecious gemstones that are available only in a single color. During the middle Ages, Peridot was a very sough-after gemstone; it is believed that a Peridot stone was a prized possession of Queen Cleopatra. The Peridot stone was called as 'gem of the sun' by the ancient Egyptians. Peridot is a beautiful and mystic gemstone that is said to glow in dark when a little amount of light falls on it.
