Pitru Dosh, also known as Pitra Dosh or Pithru Dosha is caused when any of forefathers of a person have died an unnatural death like an accident or have died before time or have not received proper shraddh rituals on their death or have strong unfulfilled attachment or desire that bounds them to their worldly existence. This causes hardships to the soul of one’s ancestors in Pitru-lok, which in turn affects the lineage of the said family.
