Legends go that once an asura named Madan through tough penance and severities gained the boon of Vak Siddhi. With the powers of Vak Siddhi whatever he said about anybody, or anything would happen and come true. Soon, he started misusing his power to harass innocents. Then Goddess Parvati took the manifestation of Goddess Baglamukhi and held the tongue of the asura so that he may not use his powers and ultimately destroyed him. Thus, it is believed that with Divine blessings of Goddess Baglamukhi one may silence voice or speech of one’s enemies or adversaries.
