Goddess Kushmanda is fourth amongst the Navdurga Goddesses. She is worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri festival, which is also known as Chaturthi. Goddess Kushmanda is the creator of the Universe and the name Kushmanda means the ‘one who created the universe from Cosmic Egg’. Goddess Kushmanda blesses Her devotees with good health, fertility, prosperity, success and wellbeing. Goddess Kushmanda is often depicted as a radiant and glowing Goddess riding a tiger with eight arms holding kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus flower, rosary, mace, discus and a jar of nectar (amrit). Goddess Kushmanda resides in the core of the sun and is worshiped for good health and wealth. Goddess Kushmanda is also worshiped to pacify malefic effects of Planet Sun (Surya).
