Goddess Durga Pujas

Goddess Mahagauri is eighth amongst the Navdurga Goddesses. She is worshipped on the eighth day of Navratri festival, which is also known as Ashtami. The name Mahagauri means extremely fair or very beautiful. Goddess Mahagauri is often depicted with three eyes and four arms. Two of Her arms hold a trident and damru whereas two other arms are in the Mudras of blessing and allaying fears and sorrows of Her devotees. Her vahana is a bull. Goddess Mahagauri also symbolizes purity, rejuvenation and tranquillity; it is believed that She fulfils all desires and wishes of Her devotees. Goddess Mahagauri is also worshipped for ending of all sorrows and sufferings and fulfilment of all wishes. Goddess Mahagauri is also worshiped to pacify malefic effects of Planet Rahu.
