Crystal is a beautiful and colourless, transparent gemstone which is also known as crystal quartz or clear quartz or just quartz, in Hindi it is known as Sphatik. Crystal is one of the most popular semi-precious gemstones. Crystal is composed of Silica and is quite hard; it measures 7 on the Mohs scale. The word crystal is derived from the Greek word ‘Krustallos’ which means ‘ice’, ancient Greeks thought that crystal gemstone was ice created by the Gods.
