Lord Shrinathji of Nathdwara is the seven-year-old bal swarup of Lord Krishna. The abode or primary temple of Lord Shrinathji is located in Nathdwara, Rajasthan and is known as Shrinath ji ki Haweli by devotees. Here devotees offer Bhakti and Seva as worship to the Lord. Legends go that Lord Shrinathji manifested on the Govardhan Hill and the swayambhu image of Shrinathji was first worshipped at Govardhan hill, near Mathura. Later in the 17th century during Mughal invasion, the idol was being shifted to safeguard it, when it reached Sinhad the chariot on which it was being shifted got stuck and refused to budge even after much effort. This was seen as a Divine sign that the Lord has chosen the said place, later the place was named as Nathdwara. The idol of Lord Shrinathji is of monolithic black marble stone with His left hand raised above His head and the right hand made into a fist resting on His waist. Lord Shrinathji is the primary Deity of Vaishnavites of Pushtimarg sect. The earlier name of Lord Shrinathji was Devadaman meaning 'conqueror of Gods' symbolizing His victory over Lord Indra by lifting of Govardhan hill.
