Lord Pashupatinath is the Lord of all Animals. Pashupatinath represents a combination of three words, Pashu denotes animals, Pati means guardian, and Nath means Creator. In short, the name represents the lord of the animals (pashu). But here, the animals stand for all living beings. Lord Pashupatinath is a manifestation or incarnation of Lord Shiva. The Shiva Avatar of Lord Pashupatinath is also known as Lord Pashupati. His primary temple, the Pashupatinath temple is located in Nepal; it is one of the biggest and most important Lord Shiva temples in the world. The temple is situated in the eastern region of Kathmandu, Nepal, along the banks of the Bagmati River. The Shiva Avatar of Pashupatinath has five faces. The five faces represent different five Shiva avataras (Sadyojata, Vamdeva, Tatpurusha, Aghor, and Ishana).
