Shraadh Pujas

Pitru Dosh Nivaran Puja is a powerful puja conducted to seek relief from the malefic effects of the Pitru Dosha. Pitru means forefathers; Pitru Dosh is caused when any ancestor or forefather of the native has died an unnatural death or has not received proper last rites or due to unfulfilled desires or negative karma done by one’s ancestors. Pitru Dosh is a highly malefic dosha which causes issues such as mental stress, obstacles and hurdles in the path of success, marital issues, child birth issue, health problems, delay in marriage, financial problems and more. Pitru Dosh can be identified in the birth chart of an individual by checking the placement of Sun, Moon, Rahu, or Saturn in certain houses, especially the 9th house (house of ancestors and dharma).  Pitru Dosh Nivaran Puja helps one negate the malefic effects of the Dosha, seek blessings of one’s ancestors and bring peace, protection and prosperity in the family. 

Pitru Dosha is a type of Karmic debt which needs to be repaid with the Pitru Dosh Nivaran Puja. The primary purpose of this puja is to pacify the restless souls of ancestors and help them attain peace in the afterlife, which removes the karmic burden passed down through generations. The Puja thus negates the malefic effects of the Dosha and ushers positivity, success, prosperity, mental peace and relief from delayed marriage, childlessness, financial losses, health problems and career issues. Pitru Dosha is an elaborate Puja ritual which is mostly conducted during Pitru Paksha period, but it can be conducted throughout the year on Amavasya day.  During the Pitra Dosh Nivaran Puja rituals such as Pinda Daan (Food Offering), Tarpan (Water Offering), Havan, Brahman Bhojan and Daan (Charity) and more are undertaken.
