Ekadashi is one of the most significant and important festival dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Sanskrit word Ekadashi means ‘eleventh day’ as Ekadashi is celebrated on the eleventh day of both the waxing (Shukla Paksha) and waning (Krishna Paksha) moon phases every month as per Hindu lunar calendar. There are minimum 2 Ekadashis every month and 24 Ekadashis in a year spread across the 12 months, each has its own significance. Ekadashi is a day of devotion and cleansing, devotees often fast on the day and worship Lord Vishnu and seek His Divine blessings of protection, prosperity and spiritual growth. Ekadashi has immense significance for all Lord Vishnu devotees, as per Vedic scriptures worshipping Lord Vishnu on the day of Ekadashi is extremely meritorious and beneficial. It helps devotees grow spiritually and materially and bless them with good health, wealth, protection, prosperity and abundance.
