Making Description

The Siddhivinayak Mahaganapati Temple is located in Titwala which is 65 kilometres from Mumbai and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Legends go that the said temple was first constructed by Shakuntala. Shakuntala was adopted daughter of Sage Kanva who resided at the said place and had penned many Shlokas of the Vedas. Shakuntala married King Dushyanta but due to a curse of sage Durvasa King Dushyanta forgot Shakuntala. Thus, Sage Kanva told Shakuntala to build and pray at a Siddhivinayak temple. The said temple was submerged and was later found while de-silting the adjoining lake. The current temple was then constructed by the Peshwas. It is believed that worshipping Lord Ganesha at the Titwala temple strengthens marital bonds and relations and provides relief from any discord in the marriage and also to find or marry a suitable partner or partner of choice.
