Shree Yantra, also spelled as Shri Yantra or Sri Yantra is regarded as ‘mother of all Yantras’ and also ‘Yantra Raj’ meaning the king of all Yantras, it is considered as the most auspicious, powerful and beneficial amongst all Yantras. It is believed that the Shree Yantra encompasses within itself the energy of 64 Goddesses and that their 64 Yantras have evolved from the Shree Yantra. The word Shree denotes Goddess Laxmi, it also means prosperity or wealth and Yantra means a machine. Thus Shree Yantra is regarded as the best tool to gain blessings of prosperity, wealth, riches, abundance and success. Another name for the Shree Yantra is Sri Chakra; its 3D form is known as Meru Shree Yantra which is said to represent the Meru Mountain (Cosmic Mountain at the center of universe). There are numerous legends associated with the Shree Yantra, it is believed that Lord Shiva Himself revealed the Sri Yantra to Goddess Parvati. Another legend goes that once unhappy with the Bhuloka Goddess Lakshmi returned home to Vaikuntha. Due to her absence the Earth was devoid of all prosperity. Devguru Brihaspati knew that the best way to make Goddess Lakshmi return to the earth was through the Shri Yantra and with the worship of Shri Yantra, Goddess Lakshmi returned to Earth.
The geometry of the Shree Yantra consists of 9 interlocked triangles and a central bindu. The geometry is considered Divine in nature. Although the said geometry of the Sri Yantra doesn’t look very complicated but still is very difficult to draw.
