Masik Shivratri is celebrated every month on the 14th day (Chaturdashi Tithi) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) as per the Hindu lunar calendar. The day falls a day before the new moon (Amavasya). The Shivratri which falls in the month of Phalguna is celebrated as the Maha Shivratri. Shivratri means the ‘Night of Lord Shiva’, it is considered as the most opportune period to worship and revere Lord Shiva and seek His Divine blessings. For Lord Shiva devotees the monthly celebration of Shivratri is a source of constant connection and Divine blessings of Lord Shiva.
