Sri Rudram Namakam Chamakam, also known as Sri Rudram, is a Vedic hymn or mantra dedicated to Lord Rudra mentioned in the Krishna Yajurveda's Taittiriya Samhita. Sri Rudram comprises of two chapters 'Namakam' and 'Chamakam'. Namakam recitation consists of chanting of ancient Vedic names of Lord Rudra and glorifying Him. With Chamakam recitation devotees seek blessings of desire and wish fulfilment. Sri Rudram is chanted during Rudra Abhishek and also during Homam or fire rituals. Recitation of Sri Rudram blesses devotees with both spiritual and material prosperity. Chanting of Sri Rudram Namakam Chamakam creates powerful vibrations that purifies and protects the devotee.
